Risto Popovski

Risto Popovski is the Managing Director of LanCologne, a leading IT services and IT forensics company, which is presented in more detail at www.lancologne.de. With over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, including the last 9 years specialising in IT forensics, Mr Popovski brings in-depth expertise in the areas of IT security, digital forensics and data analysis.

Over the course of his career, Mr Popovski has examined and analysed hundreds of mobile devices, particularly on behalf of law enforcement agencies. Close cooperation with authorities is particularly important to him, as it plays a central role in the investigation and analysis of digital evidence. He always utilises the latest techniques and technologies in the field of mobile forensics to ensure that his investigations are conducted at the cutting edge of digital forensics.

In addition to his work as managing director, Mr Popovski is also active as a lecturer in IT forensics, where he passes on his extensive knowledge and many years of experience. Peer Böttcher is the managing director of DAuB GmbH, a highly specialised company in the field of IT forensics that focuses on the detection and investigation of digital traces and evidence. With over 40 years of experience in the IT industry and the last 15 years as an expert witness and consultant for IT forensics, Mr Böttcher has established himself as a leading expert in his field.

In his role as an IT forensic expert, Mr Böttcher works closely with law enforcement authorities in Germany and supports them in securing and analysing digital evidence in criminal investigations. His in-depth expertise in the evaluation of complex IT systems and digital data has made him a recognised and valued expert in numerous criminal proceedings. German courts regularly rely on his expertise, with his impartial and well-founded expert opinions playing a key role in the decision-making process.

In addition to his advisory work for government institutions, Peer Böttcher shares his knowledge as a lecturer in IT forensics. In this role, he trains future IT forensic experts and teaches the latest methods and technologies for investigating digital evidence in a practical manner. Dr Luca Cadonici

Digital forensics examiner and trainer - expert in mobile device forensics
European Institute for Forensic Science

Dr Luca Cadonici is a digital forensics trainer with more than ten years of experience as a freelance examiner and member of the National Observatory of Forensic Informatics (ONIF). He works as a technical consultant for law enforcement agencies, including courts and prosecutors. In this capacity, he has collaborated with various units of the Italian justice system, such as the D.I.A., the Postal Police, the N.A.S., the Carabinieri and the Financial Police (GDF).

Dr Cadonici is currently a lecturer for the ISF Corporate College (Italy), the University of Perugia (Italy) and the European Forensic Institute (Malta). He has authored a chapter in the book 'Advancements in Cyber Crime Investigations and Modern Data Analytics', which will be published by CRC Press (USA) in 2024.

His professional experience includes:

- International senior non-key expert for the collection and management of digital evidence for the Special Investigation Service (SIS) in Tbilisi as part of the EU-funded project "Support to External Security Sector Oversight in Georgia" in the year 2024.

- Programme manager for the Master's degree in cyber security, digital forensics and crime analysis on European Forensic Institute (Malta).

- Author of the Python script 𝘪𝘖𝘚𝘚 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺, which is based on the 𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐒 𝐃𝐅𝐈𝐑 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 & 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 2023 and was developed to recover data related to deleted WhatsApp messages.

- Speaker at the Europol's Forensic Experts Forum 2022 with the presentation "Android Security Measures and Chipset-Based Acquisition: A Challenge for Mobile Forensics"

- Author of the courses Windows Registry and Log Analysis with Freeware Tools and Ubuntu Forensics for eForensics Magazine.

Dr Cadonici is dedicated to training the next generation of digital forensics professionals and teaches courses at the following institutions:

- European Institute for Forensic Science - BSc (Hons) Forensic Science and Criminology (Malta).
